Principals Message
The character of a person can be judged by the type of values he has imbibed
from his family, school and society. In today's world of nuclear families,
materialism and tremendous exposure to media, good values are slowly vanishing
from our system. Therefore, it is of utmost importance that the family and
school which play a major role in inculcating values in a child are not in
conflict with each other but support one another, Besides, it must also be kept
In mind that values are caught rather than taught. The best values can be passed
onto these impressionable children through examples in our own lives.
Honesty is
the best policy. We should be honest in our dealings with one another. One
should not cheat during exams. It is better to fail and work up later than to
acquire marks which you do not really deserve by copying from students who have
been sincere and hardworking. Cheating brings out the worst in you. It makes you
sly, furtive, lazy, fearful and also insecure. The truth should be spoken at all
times. It is easier to remember the truth than a hundred lies. People will
respect you for it. Students should inculcate the dignity of labour, be
conscious about the importance of health and hygiene and overall cleanliness. We
should never develop the habit of dirtying our surroundings and expecting others
to keep it clean for us. Abroad, people are fined heavily for this. No wonder
their cities are clean! Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Hence, we should
involve children in maintaining cleanliness at home and in school. They learn to
become responsible, self-reliant and careful of how they keep their belongings.
Parents, teachers and all elders should be shown respect without any
discrimination. If you respect others, others will respect you. We should be
careful about the way we talk and behave with our parents, teachers and elders.
Politeness, courtesy, obedience and service to them are values that should be
cultivated. It is better to appreciate than to be criticalit spreads a feeling
of positivity.
Punctuality, regularity, gratitude, sense of justice are some
more good values worth depositing in our treasury of character. Dear parents,
let us introspect and check if we are imparting the right values to our
children. We need to ensure that students with good :haracter are released into
society. As it is said, if character is lost, everything is lost.' Our 'anon
needs men of good character and ntegrity.
